Borttagning av program

Jag har köpt en ny scanner -skrivare-kopiator som använder Paperport 9 för scannern. Scannerprogrammet gick inte att installera pgr av att det fanns ett gammalt Paperport 8 i datorn. Det gick inte att ta bort med Windows borttagning av program. Hur gör jag för att få bort det?

Problem:

 

You may receive an error 1713 when installing or uninstalling PaperPort 8.0, or when upgrading from PaperPort 8. These steps may also be used to completely remove PaperPort 8 or 9 from your system.

 

Solution:

 

Please print out these instructions and follow the steps exactly.

 

To backup your data files:

 

Make sure you back up all of your PaperPort data files by copying or moving them from their current location to another location on the system. By default, these files are located at the following location:

%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My PaperPort Documents

 

Remover Tool:

 

The Remover Tool will uninstall any occurrence of PaperPort 7, 8, or 9 from your system. Please follow these steps to run the Remover Tool:

 

1. Click here to download the Remover Tool. When prompted, select 'Save' and choose a location on your hard drive.

2. Once it is downloaded, double-click the file to unzip the remover files. By default these files are extracted to C:\PaperPort_Remover\.

3. Double click the file 'Remover.exe' to remove PaperPort.

4. Please restart your computer when prompted.

5. After the Remover has completed, Navigate to c:\Program Files\ScanSoft\ and delete the 'PaperPort' folder. If this folder is not available, delete the folder C:\Paprport.

6. Remove any PaperPort printers that are left on the system by going into 'Start > Settings > Printers'. Right-click on any PaperPort Printer and click delete, choose 'Yes' when prompted to confirm removal of the printer.

7. Empty your Windows Recycle Bin by right-clicking on it and choosing 'Empty Recycle Bin'.

8. Please restart your computer.

 

To manually remove PaperPort:

 

Note: These steps include removing items from the Windows Registry. If you are running a Windows NT 4.0 or 2000 system, confirm that you are logged on as the Administrator for all of these steps. Please follow each step carefully:

 

Follow these steps to make sure that no PaperPort processes are running in the background:

 

1. Press 'Ctrl + Alt + Delete' to bring up the Task Manager (on Windows NT 4.0, 2000, and XP click the 'Task Manager' button and then click the 'Processes' tab).

2. Locate the following processes and if they exist, highlight them and click 'End Task' or 'End Process':

* pptd40nt.exe

* pplinks.exe

* paprport.exe

* ssindexer.exe

* ppscanmg.exe

* ppwebcap.exe

 

Follow these steps to remove all PaperPort Windows Registry keys and files from the computer.

 

1. Open the Registry Editor by clicking 'Start > Run'. Type in 'regedit' without the quotes and click “OK”.

2. Export a backup copy of your Registry in case problems occur during the following procedures by going to:

* Windows 98SE, 2000, and ME: Registry menu > Export registry file.

* Windows XP: File > Export Registry File.

3. Save this file to the Windows Desktop and name the file 'backup'. (You can keep 'backup' for a few days and if all is well, this file can be deleted.)

4. Delete the following Registry keys (folders on the left side) by right-clicking and choosing delete. Click Yes when prompted to confirm.

Note: Some of these keys may not exist.

5. Exit out of the Windows Registry.

6. Navigate to c:\Program Files\ScanSoft\ and delete the 'PaperPort' folder. If this folder is not available, delete the folder C:\Paprport.

7. Restart the computer.

 

Confirm that the PaperPort print driver has been removed:

 

1. Go to 'Start','Settings','Control Panel','Printers'.

2. Confirm that PaperPort is not listed.

3. If PaperPort is listed, right click on the PaperPort icon and select “Delete”.

4. Empty the Recycle Bin.
