Det ska du göra om ditt moderkort hanterar minnen i så kallad Dual Channel. Dual Channel innebär att processorn kan prata med två minneskretsar på en gång, vilket i teorin fördubblar prestandan. Nästan alla datorer som använder DDR2 eller DDR3 använder Dual Channel. En del datorer som använder DDR har också Dual Channel, men där var det mer ovanligt.

Din dator använder DDR minnen men inte Dual Channel. Du behöver alltså inte köpa minnen i par. Ditt moderkort har bara två minnesplatser och klarar max 2GB minne, vilket i praktiken borde betyda att du ska sätta två 1GB minnen för att maxa minnet. Det är ingen nackdel att i så fall köpa två 1GB minnen i ett paket.

Kanon men det minnet som satt i när jag köpte datorn ett 512 DDR 400-CL3

fungerar inte med 1gb minnet då har jag bara 512 när dom sitter i tillsammans?

Nejdå, det funkar bra att sätta i ett 1GB minne. Då får du 1.5GB minne totalt. Förutsatt att det sitter 1x 512MB och inte 2x 256MB minne.

 

Edit: Enligt din log ser det ut att sitta ett 1GB minne i datorn. Det ser dessutom ut att vara både ECC och Reg vilket är rätt ovanligt. Jag är osäker på om det går att kombinera ett ECC minne och ett icke ECC minne. Jag skulle inte räkna med att det funkar.

Jag var nog lite otydlig.Minnen som jag har:

 

 

  • 1 org 512 DDR400 PC 3200
  • 1 oem 512 DDR 400 PC 3200
  • 1 corsair 1 gb DDR 400 PC 3200

 

Dom två 512 kan jag använda samtidigt men inte 1gb och 512?

Det beror nog i så fall på att 1GB minnet är ECC och REG. Båda är finesser som mest används i servrar för att eliminera risken för att det blir fel i minnet.

 

Men jag skulle säga att det är stor chans att du får ett nytt DDR-400 minne att funka med något av de 512MB minnen som du har.
