I have just build up a new pc here: Egosys wamirack 24 asus P4C800-e deluxe mobo Corsair 2*512 hyper-x P4 3.2ghz prescott 2 s-ata disks Nr1: Maxtor diamond9 plus 160gb Nr2:WD raptor 36 gb what i wounder is that what i have heard and read is that the raptor disks should be the fastest s-ata drives you can find...thats why i wanted to have this to record down my music to when i use sisoft sandra and try to benchmark these disks my maxtor outpaces the WD... here is the results Wester digital raptor Maxtor Drive index 41mb/s 50mb/s Buffered read 56 40 Sequential read 50 57 Random read 25 40 Buffered write 83 92 Sequental write 50 57 Random write 40 44 Average accesstime 19 (estimated) 8 (estimated) Can this be right...shouldent the raptor be much faster than this? any suggestions what i should try to do? TUR Posted September 22, 2004 Share Posted September 22, 2004 Tja.. om man skall ha prestanda är väl egentligen inte S-ATA det bästa utan SCSI (nog med blaj blaj :-) ) men kan du ha glömt installera drivarna för hårddiskarna? Kan det vara så att de går att uppgradera med ny firmware? det kan bero på många saker. Vad har du för kontroller för S-ATA på datorn? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
