Q: We have installed Lotus Notes 6.5 for mailing purposes. After upgrading from 5 to 6.5, the unread count shown beside the inbox view (e.g., (inbox (3)) does not match the actual unread mail count in the inbox.
A: While I have not found any particular documentation for this, I have run into the same issue. Keep in mind that there was no unread mark count listed next to folder names in R5, and that unread marks have always been a sore point for Lotus Notes. This problem seems to be happening when I use Rules or the "Block mail from sender" feature and seems to keep a count for documents that go straight to trash when they have not been read.
